Halloween with Pets

Trick or Treat DogsHalloween is on everyone’s mind today. At our house it’s too much excitement for most of the pets to handle! The door bell always puts them at attention. When the door opens and it’s someone with a scary mask they are afraid and they bark a lot!  So dogs stay in their crates and cats go in a closed room so they don’t run through the open door and away from all the excitement. If parents are with children, we always ask if they have a dog and we offer them a dog treat if Mom, Dad or big brother or sister will carry it so it doesn’t get mixed up with the candy. Many of the kids know this by now and have a separate bag for their dog.
